Exile Huscoon, aka Samuel H., was born on December 17, 1981 in St. Marys, Ohio. He grew up in Celina, Ohio, with his mother, a teacher, and his father, a Vietnam War veteran. Samuel was a middle child growing up with one younger brother and one older sister. While in school, Samuel was considered, year-in and year-out, to be one of the best math students in the region, winning district-wide awards in Math Ciphering, Math League, and regional awards in Math Counts. Samuel constantly finished in the top 1% nationally in the mathematics sections of standardized tests.
Throughout his youth, Samuel took part in many extra-cirricular activities including soccer, football, and Spanish club. At the age of 12, he started playing dartball, a version of darts that is scored like baseball, for his church. He quickly became the team captain, helping the team win two Tournament championships and a South Division championship. His favorite pasttime was baseball, a sport he played through his junior year of high school.
At the age of 14, he got his first job as a little league umpire for the local recreation department. Later that fall, he started officiating youth soccer as well.
In June 2000, Samuel graduated from Celina High School. In February 2001, he attended and graduated from Harry Wendelstedt School for Umpires and became certified to officiate professional baseball. In October 2004, Samuel attended and graduated from Vantage Career Center Truck Driving School, earning his Class A Commercial Driver License. After which, he worked as a contracted recreational vehicle transporter for Hoosier Transit for over 4 years.
Samuel is currently enrolled at The Ohio State University, majoring in Actuarial Science and looking to possibly minor in Statistics. He also works seasonal jobs as an official in football, basketball, and baseball. He works the junior high and high school levels in football and basketball. In baseball, he has umpired hundreds of games at the high school and college levels, working numerous local tournaments every year.
Samuel has never been married and has no children. His family has an Airedale Terrier named Reagan and a long-haired Persian named Kate.
